We have listed these ‘lifestyle’ changes that can help support thyroid function:
- Get regular exercise: Exercise can help regulate hormone balance and support healthy metabolism.
- Manage stress: Chronic stress can disrupt thyroid function, so finding ways to manage stress such as meditation or yoga can be helpful. THIS IS A BIG ONE!
- Get enough sleep: Lack of sleep can disrupt thyroid function and lead to fatigue and other symptoms.
- Avoid toxins where you can: Exposure to environmental toxins such as pesticides and heavy metals can interfere with thyroid function, so it’s important to minimise exposure where possible.
- Eat a healthy, balanced diet: A diet that is high in whole foods and low in processed foods can help support overall health and thyroid function.
- Avoid smoking: Smoking can interfere with thyroid function and increase the risk of thyroid disease.
- Stay hydrated: Drinking enough water can help support healthy metabolism and hormone balance.
- Consider supplements: Certain supplements such as selenium, zinc, and vitamin D can help support thyroid function, but it’s important to speak with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplements.
If you can start adding some of these foods into your day to day life then this would start bringing you success.
