YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOODS WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHT LOSS

We want to help you improve your relationship with foods.

Let’s say you’ve been absolutely nailing your nutrition recently, you’ve been filling up on a whole bloody
WORLD of goodness,

Smoothies,
Lean protein sources,
Loads of fibre,
Vitamins and minerals coming out of your ears…

The job lot.

BUT, it gets to Friday and the neighbour knocks on your door, and you get invited round for a curry that evening (INSERT WHATEVER YOUR DISTRACTION IS!)…

You go,

And good lord they have starters, mains desert, drinks, nibbles…

The works!

You chow down until your heart is content, all washed down with a few alcoholic beverages…

But then Saturday you wake up, depressed.. miserable… regretting everything you did on the food and drink front…

WHY DO I DO THIS??!

You give yourself the biggest verbal pummelling, tell yourself you’ve RUINED all the hard work you’ve been putting in,

So you decide you’re going to start again Monday…

Eat what you want over the weekend, I mean your week is already ruined on the nutrition front right? Whats the point?

Now,

We want to try and help you sort this whole thing out because this kind of thing can send you on a full on downward spiral week in week out!

2x things:

#1 WEIGHT LOSS NUTRITION IS JUST NUMBERS!

The vast majority of nutrition is literally just getting a set of numbers in and around where they need to be.

The problem is, when you go to the BBQ you see wings as ‘BAD’, wine as ‘NAUGHTY’, the ribs as ‘BEING TERRIBLE’ for example, and the likes…

The reality is this:

You had 300 cals more than you were aiming for that day.
You had a peak in saturated fat intakes.
You had more salt than usual.
You had more alcohol than a normal day…

BUT!!

You also got more Iron too?
You had some incredible sources of protein and smashed your protein target?
You recovered from exercise much more efficiently as a result of the additional protein and cals?
SO you weren’t therefore BAD were you?

In SOME areas you were slightly off,
In SOME areas you were actually improving.

#2 IT TAKES TIME TO GAIN A RESULT AND LOSE A RESULT

Nutrition is a numbers game, but just to add to this,

It’s a numbers game OVER TIME.

If you consume an additional 300 cals more than necessary today, this is a non issue at this stage.

We have NOWHERE near enough data to assess anything at all really!

If you consumed an additional 300 cals for 7 days, then assessed our results,

THIS will likely have an impact.

Not between the hours of 6pm and 10pm at a BBQ!

If you went on 3x walks that same week before or after the BBQ the problem of the peak in calories no longer exists.

Now…

Freak out = unnecessary right?

Just remember there really is not really any such thing as a GOOD or BAD food.

And both gaining AND LOSING results takes time!

No need to freak out over 1 day.

…and breathe!
